Hi! I’m Allison
I’ve been where you are.
Early in my career, I worked with a grassroots homelessness collaborative trying to change the system. I described our work as "pushing on a brick wall," and if that wall budged an inch, I'd be satisfied.
But the communities I worked with deserved more than inch by inch. So I left my hometown to study public policy, to speak the language of government and funders.
Years later, I came back and contributed evidence and strategic support to the local Housing First strategy.
That's the work that drives DARE. I know what’s at stake in this work, and I know what changes when the data finally works for the community.
